Conakry is the capital and largest city of Guinea, located on the Atlantic coast of West Africa. It is home to approximately two million people and is considered the political, economic and cultural center of the country. The city has many government institutions, businesses, universities, museums and tourist sites.

Conakry is also a port city located on a peninsula that juts out into the Atlantic Ocean and is bordered by the sea to the west and south, as well as crossed by the Konkoure River.
